What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

Core Beliefs

We, the members of Country Fellowship Church, accept the following as a statement of truths taught in the Bible which are basic to our Christian faith and practice.

The Bible

We believe in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament as the inerrant and inspired word of God and as the final authority in faith and life.

The One True God

We believe in one God who eternally exists in three persons:
Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

The Lord Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God
born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life,
died on the cross for our sins,
and was resurrected from the dead,
and is the only mediator between God and man.

Salvation

We believe that all who receive the Lord Jesus Christ by faith are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God.

Ordinances

We believe that baptism is the immersion of a believer in water, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, setting forth the essential facts of redemption – the death, burial and resurrection.  Baptism also sets forth the essential facts in the experience of the believer – death to sin and resurrection to newness of life.  We believe that the Lord’s Supper is to be observed by those who have made a profession of faith in Jesus.

The Church

We believe that this church consists of a company of baptized believers who have voluntarily joined together for worship, instruction, and service for our Lord.  We believe that the church shall teach all things that lead to an effective Christian life, encourage participation in all worship services, church activities, and other ministries. This includes the stewardship of time, talent,
resources, and discipleship.

Doctrine

The church affirms the Holy Bible, the inerrant and inspired Word of God, as the authority in all matters of faith and practice.  It further identifies itself as a distinctive body of faith by affirming the 1963 Baptist Faith and Message.

Marriage

We believe marriage is a union between one man and one woman ordained by God as delineated in Scripture.
