How Can My Personal Prayer Life Be More Effective?

Meditate on this verse: “They that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength.” Isaiah 40:31

Question? What does it mean to wait on God? It means to think on God. It means to meditate on God and His Word. It also means to contemplate on God. A good verse for contemplating on God is Psalm 46:10. “Be still and know that I am God.”

“Until a man has found God he or she begins at no beginning and works to no end.” -H.G. Wells

We need to have that quiet time that is so necessary for prayer to be effective. I think our big problem is that we have a rushed prayer life.

“Said the Robin to the Sparrow, “I should really like to know, why those anxious human beings Rush around and worry so.”

Said the Sparrow to the Robin, “Friend, I think that it must be that they have no Heavenly Father, Such as cares for you and me.”- Elizabeth Cheney

When we say, “Our Father…” we should become quiet and confident.

(Note some of this comes from notes that I had from Dr. Charles Allen. The Methodist Pastor that God used to impact my life when I surrendered to preach at 20 years old).
