Years ago, Arthur Hays Sulzberger, Chairman of the Board of the New York Times told Dale Carnegie, “ I was never able to banish my worries and find peace until I adopted the motto of the words of the Church Hymn, Lead Kindly Light.

“Lead, kindly light…
Keep Thou me feet, I do not ask to see
The Distance scene; one step enough for me.”

Have you ever thought about taking life 5 minutes at a time. In other words, make a statement to yourself,  “In the next five minutes I will not worry or stress out.” After you do that, start taking five minutes at a time. We have  a New Year. We have New Opportunities. It will be a great year, if we just learn to take 5 minutes at a time.  Let’s be content on 5 minutes at a time. We can say, “Ok, we will not worry for the next 5 minutes.” Keep practicing that. I don’t know about tomorrow but the one who leads me this very day will lead in the tomorrows of life. “I don’t know about tomorrow but I know who holds my Hand this day.”

Today, I am at the Immanuel Baptist Church in Paris, Texas. This past summer they asked me to preach the sermon on their 125th Anniversary Celebration. I was pastor at the church when I was 30 years old. This event means a lot to Nancy and myself. I hate that it has happened on the very day that our church has started their 1st Sunday at the Brazos Center. Yet, I am delighted that Ross & Jeff and others will lead you though this first day at the Brazos Center. Country Fellowship Church is so fortunate to have a great bunch of leaders. Thanks Ross for preaching for us in both services.

This Wednesday, we will be starting back  WOW (Word on Wednesdays) Ross Hooks will be teaching about the Oder of  the Bible. All this will start at 6:00 p.m. It will be taught at the Suites on 6 next to Stella’s Café. On each Wednesday evening, I will make myself available to visit with you. Just let me know. I want to use this time in getting to visit with our members or visitors. It is a time that I can pray with you. It is a time that I can tell you about the ministry of Country Fellowship. It is a time that you can share with me.

Prayers and Blessings!

When we go through tough times or crisis we often panic. I have some good news for you. We can go from Panic to Praise. Beginning on January 14th, at 10:00 a.m. we will begin a Bible Study @ 10:00 a.m. every Tuesday Morning at the Blue Baker on University. I will be teaching the Book called “Red Sea Rules.” There are  lessons that we can learn from the Israelites as they traveled on their long journey to  the Promised Land. Everyone that attends will receive a copy of the Red Sea Book and also study sheets. There is no cost for this course or the book I am looking forward in leading this Bible Study- CH.

WHAT A GREAT DECEMBER!

Just a note. December was an outstanding month. We saw good steady attendance. We saw a young single mother pray and ask Christ into her heart. Our church and the folks at Watercrest  had an outstanding Outreach Fellowship. We also had a total offering of 37,571.00 (14,235.00 of this was for the Building Fund.) We were also able to help Bernard go to Kenya and see his family.

The Book of Romans! Jean Godwin is teaching the Book of Romans at 9:00 a.m. on Sundays. You will not want to miss this great opportunity of studying this great book of the Bible.

Winter Celebration Sundays @ Brazos County Event Center at 3232 Briarcrest Drive in Bryan from January thru March. Folks I look at this as an exciting time for our Church Family! Bible Study @9:00 a.m. and Worship @ 10:00 am & 5:00 p.m. Please take a few promo cards and hand them out.
