Look above the Clouds! “The Lord is slow to anger and in great power; the Lord will not leave the guilty unpunished. His way is in the whirlwind and the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.” Nahum 1:3
I have not spent a great deal of time reading the Book of Nahum, yet the above verse caught my attention. Nahum was prophesying against Nineveh and crying out about their wickedness. Chapter 1. Nineveh’s Doom Declared; Chapter 2. Nineveh’s Doom Described; Chapter 3. Nineveh’s Doom Deserved Yet in Nahum 1:3 I see this gem. I see that the Lord has got this. Lean on the principles of God, have an attitude of prayer, and take refuge and look above the clouds.
In the NT Paul put it like this. “If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.” Colossians 3: 1-2
In America, believers seem to pay attention to the bad news according to the media than the good news according to Jesus Christ. Our task is not to move the clouds but to see above the clouds.
The Watercrest Campus is back. On Thursdays from 3:00 p.m. to 3:45 p.m., Donna and I have been asked to lead the worship time at Watercrest. The last time we were there was at the end of February. We sing for 20 minutes and then I preach a 15-minute sermon and then we close with 10 more minutes of music. We did not know what to expect but God expanded our territory. We had 24 attend the worship service and I think we will have more this Thursday. Please pray for this great outreach effort. Thanks, Donna, for all you do at Watercrest.
We have flyers for our upcoming Revival – Come Back to God Sunday on Sunday, October 25th at the Brazos Center. Take some of the flyers and share them with prospects. Also, take some of the flyers that tell about our move to Aldersgate United Methodist on November 1.
Thanks Jeff for doing an outstanding job in leading the Prayer Conference last Sunday. People have told me that they were blessed by the Prayer Conference Service.
It is good to see you this day with a Bible in your Hand and a Love in our Hearts for Jesus.
