A Focused Life – Keeping Life Focused!  “But I am focusing all my energies on this one thing forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead.”  Phil. 3:13 NLT

EVERY PERSON CLAIMED BY CHRIST HAS BEEN CALLED FOR A PURPOSE – THE DESIRE OF CHRIST IS FOR THAT PERSON TO BE OCCUPIED WITH THAT PURPOSE.  We are not just saved for a future purpose, but also for an earthly purpose.  “For we are God’s masterpiece.  He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:10

Paul had figured out that his life needed to have this single purpose, “I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead.  I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death,” (Philippians 3:10) THIS WAS HIS MAIN OBSESSION.  In Phil. 3:10 shows us how one stays focused on God’s plan for our life.  A publishing editor wrote: “The true secret of editing is to know what to put in the wastepaper basket and what to keep.” A person put this message on an answering machine: “Yesterday is past, tomorrow is the future, but today’s a gift.  That is why it is called the Present.”

Live with the single purpose of knowing Him experientially, intimately, and to fill the purpose for which Christ drafted us.

John Oatman wrote the lyrics to this great hymn.  I like the inspiration that it gives to us.  “I’m pressing on the upward way, new heights I’m gaining every day, Still praying as I onward bound, Lord plant my feet on higher ground.  Lord lift me up and let me stand, by faith on heaven’s tableland, a higher plane than I have found.  Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.”

I know you will continue to pray for the families of the victims in Uvalde.
