Prayer, the most important activity in all our life! A young boy was in his room praying. “In a very loud voice he cried out, “Lord I want a brand-new Football for my birthday tomorrow.” His mother was in the next room, and she answered back, “Justin, you don’t have to shout! God isn’t deaf.” Her son replied, “I know that but Grandpa who is the next room is.” When we pray, it is not to others, or to ourselves, but to God. Prayer is about relationships, and when we really pray the whole Trinity is involved. A Believer’s prayer is a prayer to the Father. (Mt. 6:9) A Believer’s prayer is through His Son, Christ Jesus. (Eph. 2:18; John 15:16) A Believer’s prayer is helped by the Holy Spirit. (Ephesians 2:18; Romans 8:26-27)
Why do we pray? We pray to develop our relationship with Our Father in Heaven. There would not be much of a relationship if we did not communicate. We pray to follow the example of Jesus. His life was one of constant prayer. (Mk. 1:35; Luke 6:12; Mt. 6:6-7) Lastly, we pray to change us and sometimes to change our situations. (Mt, 7:7-8) Our Hope Is Found in Jesus and in our Prayers!
Continue to pray for our church as we take a great step of buying a building and property. Throughout each day pray and ask God to lead, guide and direct. Pray for the unsaved. Pray for one another as we continue to go through the pandemic. Get a copy of the prayer list and pray for the needs of those listed. Pray for the unsaved and unchurched. Read seven chapters of the Bible each day. Most of the time, I read my seven chapters in the morning. The other evening, I read them before I went to bed. Wow! When I laid my head on my pillow, I went right to sleep.
Blessings!
