What’s Your Story? What’s Your Testimony? Be a Bartimaeus: One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see!” John 9:25
There are people who don’t believe in God or in Christian Faith and all they have are arguments. Guess what? You and I have a story, a testimony. We need to share our testimony. A testimony of how God has worked in your life is far greater than an argument by an agnostic or atheist.
A testimony should have three elements:
- Before I knew Christ
- How I came to know Christ;
- What Christ has done in my life
Billy Graham’s Son, Ned spoke at his Dad’s Funeral. His tribute to his Dad was not long but powerful. He used an anacronym out of the letters: F. A. T. He said that, Billy Graham, his father was:
- Faithful
- Available
- Teachable
You have a testimony so be available and share it. Share your testimony like Bartimaeus
“The Awesome Conquest of God always will win over the Pitiful Opposition of Man.”
Next Sunday, we will have two guest preachers who will share with us what God is doing in the ministry that they lead. Steve Doyle is the Church Consultant and leader of the Creath Brazos Baptist Network. This great network is a ministry that we support in the mission’s section of our budget. The other speaker is Joel Bratcher, Director of the Baptist Student Ministry of Texas A& M. The BSM Ministry has been so effective in reaching the lost University Students of Texas A&M. Also, they have mentored so many Christian Leaders who have left A&M and made a difference all over the world. You will want to be here and hear these two great leaders. They will speak in the 8:30 a.m. service and the 10:15 a.m. service.
Just a note. We looked at the building last Sunday afternoon on Old College Road and after hearing from our people I don’t I feel like we should proceed with that property. We will continue to pray and seek God’s will. I have met with two men that will help serve as our new trustees. These two men are also ordained deacons. In our By Laws we have the Office of the Deacon. As a new church we need to have a body of Deacons. If you are an ordained Deacon and would like to be a part of the Deacon body of the church then come visit with me . The Deacon Ministry is not a body that makes decisions for the church but helps the Pastor in ministering to the Church Family. The business of the church is led by the Pastor and Trustees who make recommendations to the Church. If they are major decisions then they will be brought to the full body of the church. If the items are not major ones then they will be approved by the Pastor and Trustees and Information Team.
Information Meeting this Tuesday @ 10:00 a.m. here at the event center.
Our Hope is in Christ!
