Make a Difference!
Loren C. Elseley writes the following:
One day a man was walking along the beach when he noticed a boy picking something up and gently throwing it into the ocean. Approaching the boy, he asked, “What are you doing?”
The youth replied, “Throwing starfish back into the ocean. The surf is up and the tide is going out. If I don’t throw them back, they’ll die.” “Son,” the man said, “don’t you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish? You can’t make a difference!”
After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish, and threw it back into the surf. Then, smiling at the man, he said…..“I made a difference for that one.”

One of our men in the church decided to invite one of his neighbors to the Victory in the Valley Revival. He walked down the street and told him about the Victory in the Valley Event. The man made the following statement, “ You know, I was wondering if anyone would ever invite me to church.” What a lesson for all of us. This member made a difference.
People are out there wondering if they will ever be invited to church. This past week, I visited with two neighbors. One was a man whose wife died a couple of years ago. He told me that he would try to attend our meeting. I also asked another lady named Shirley whose daughter lives down the street. Shirley told me that she could not come because she will be recovering from eye surgery. In the conversation she said, “I need to get back in church. She said I have lived here several years and I do not have a church home. Before I left her she asked, “Would you pray for my eye surgery. I prayed with her and feel for certain that she will attend our church. How do we build up our church? One person, one contact at a time. Invite someone. Like the one Starfish, it will make a difference to that one that you invite.
Thanks for passing out the Victory in the Valley Promo Materials! Please pray hard and often for Victory in the Valley. See you there each night at 7:00 p.m.
