How to get a perfect new heart and a new body!
Years ago, two brothers grew up on a farm in East Texas. One brother took to education like a duck to water. He graduated from Texas A&M. and became a renowned engineer in Chicago. The other brother was content to stay home and farm. Some years later the learned brother was invited to give a speech at the Adolphus Hotel in Dallas. He had not seen his brother in a long while, so he invited him to bring his family to the hotel and spend a little time with him. The rural brother had never
been in a town bigger than Longview. He and his wife and son piled into their pickup truck and headed for Dallas. After a fearful experience on the interstate highways, they pulled up in front of the Adolphus Hotel. The farmer left his wife in the truck. He and his son went inside to check in. Just inside the entrance were several elevators. The farmer
had never seen one before. He watched a very plain, middle aged lady step inside one of those little rooms. The doors closed. After about a minute, the doors opened and out stepped a young lady who looked like Miss America. The farmer’s eyes bugged out. Quickly he punched his son and said, “Boy, go get Your Maw. I’m going to run her through that thing one time.”
Christ can change us on the inside! A new heart!
“No, we look inside, and what we see is that anyone united with the Messiah gets a fresh start, is created new. The old life is gone and a new life begins.” 2 Corinthians 5:17- The Message
Christ in the future will change you on the outside! A new body!
“Behold I tell you a mystery; we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall all be changed. For this perishable must put on imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality.” I Corinthians 15:51,52 &53 (NAS)
Good News: The Aldersgate United Methodist Church Board has agreed to allow our church to meet in their Fellowship Hall and use a classroom for Sunday School and possibly another classroom for future growth. The next step is for Pastor Mario and me to sit down on September 28th and work out the details. (Pastor Mario is on a two-week vacation so we could not meet until the 28th.If everything works out then we would probably start meeting there On October 25th or Nov 1,
This Tuesday we will have our monthly planning and information meeting at 10:00 a.m. here at the hotel event room. One thing I want us to work on is to have A God & Country Sunday and have it at the Brazos Center on Sunday, October 18th. This will be a Sunday Morning & Evening Weekend Revival Outreach. I want to call this emphasis, “Come Back to God Sunday!”
Several people have asked me about what the Bible says about Suicide. I have had printed several copies of what Jim Denison wrote in God Issues in 2006. Please take a copy.
