Determination! We all need a good dose.
A young woman made an appointment for an interview with a major corporation. She asked if she could get into their training program. They Personnel Director, told the young lady that she was besieged with applications for that program and that right now it would be impossible. She told the young lady to come back in ten years. The young lady looked at the personnel director and said, “Morning or Afternoon?”
A young boy was trying to learn how to skate on ice. He had fallen so many times that his face was cut, and blood and tears were running together. A Lady felt sorry for him and skated over and picked him up and said, “Son, why don’t you quit? You are going to kill yourself.” The boy brushed his tears from his eyes and said, “I didn’t buy these skates to learn to quit; I bought them to learn how to skate.”
Some of us live beneath our capabilities. We do not think we can do great things. We forget that God has given each one of us gifts and abilities to use for His work. Whatever He has called us to do we need to do it with all our heart.
I like that bumper sticker that says, “I intend to live forever, or die trying!”
